Lions are still answering the Challenge of Helen Keller

LIONS ARE STILL ANSWERING THE CHALLENGE OF HELEN KELLER

Although International Sight Month was in October there are still clubs using the amazing hand held Vision Screener
to check the eyesight of those who have never been assessed before, especially school pupils and those in care homes.

The unit is available by booking it with Lion Sandy and payment of a nominal R250 a week from your Projects Account.

It all started in 1925 when Helen Keller accompanied by Ann Sullivan – Macy attended the Dallas Convention. In her keynote address she challenged Lions to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness”. The challenge was taken up and today our Organisation is a world leader in Eye Health programmes.

Helen Keller was born deaf and blind.
